Celebrate your body with a beautiful work of art....
A body cast is a beautiful way to capture a  special time in your life.  Whether it is a belly cast or body cast, your first pregnancy or your last, we can create a lasting tribute to your body by doing a plaster cast.  You can have your casting done alone, with a spouse or friend, or as part of a baby shower with friends and family.  Gift certificates are available as gifts for expectant mums. We are experienced with working with plaster and are experienced art educators and professional artists- so we know how to make your cast look fantastic!

F.A.Q

Do I have to be pregnant?!  Nope!  We can cast any body- including faces!

How is it done?   Strips of plaster cover your vaseline-protected body.  The plaster sets quickly and your body will come away from the material naturally.
Will it hurt me?  Absolutely not!  The vaseline (which is provided) is applied so that the plaster does not stick to your body and releases easily.  You will need to shower later to remove the vaseline.
Will it hurt my baby?  Not one iota!  There is no pressure and baby is free to move about as normal!  The plaster is safe and non-toxic- it is used by hospitals to set broken bones.
When should it be done?    A belly cast is a cast of your pregnant tummy, normally during 32- 38 weeks of pregnancy.
Will it be messy or uncomfortable?   While there is some dripping of wet plaster, you will be protected under a comfortable plastic sheet.   You will be sitting down during the entire time.
How long will it take?  The entire session will last anywhere from one hour to one and a half hours, including clean up time.
What are the finishing options?  You can choose to have the cast left white, so that you can decorate it yourself, or we can paint it and personalize it for you. Or we can personalize it for you after baby is born.  You can cast only your belly, or belly and breasts, or belly, breasts and shoulders with or without your hand on your belly.
When will it be ready? The cast will normally be ready within 2-3 weeks, depending on the finishing options you select.  If you plan on having a picture of baby with it, you will need to plan your casting date accordingly.
What does it cost and what are the terms of payment?  Prices start at $150, with $100 deposit due when you book your session, and the balance due on the day of the session. Options and pricing for personalized decorating and painting can be discussed during your session.
