We're looking for some motivated, hard-working, fun-loving teens!
We are going to be 'hiring' some teens* that fit these descriptions. But the pay isn't going to be in dollars and cents- more like experience and sense. No- we are NOT looking for 'cheap labor' which is a very odious term sometimes applied to interns. Yes, we need help, and we are hoping to hire a very organized, part-time studio manager before next summer!
We'd like to 'hire' teens who are willing to give and create; help us grow more of a teen social media presence; and help with Club Mudd, our ceramics and pottery department. HOWEVER! We would also like to give, and help, and teach, and reward. Sara was a high school art teacher for 19 years...... and she would love for teens to leave an Artworks Internship with some skills that they can add to a resume. She can also write a pretty great letter of recommendation! One of our two current high school interns has already learned how to cut and fuse glass and prepare silkscreens for t-shirt printing, among other things. In return, she has been able to work with clay and glass, and have lots of fun and laughs!
If you can dedicate 2-3 hours a week/month** and are hard-working, dependable, respectful and LOVE ART, then Sara would love to hear from you! Please email Sara Gant at artworksnc@gmail and explain why YOU are interested in being an art intern.
*Teens should preferably be in 10th-12th grades- but if you aren't, please convince Sara why she should 'hire' you!
** 2-3 hours somewhere on Thursday afternoons, Friday afternoons, Saturdays between 10 and 6, and Sundays between 1 and 4.
